Warner Bros. Montréal has seemingly been developing an additional game, alongside Gotham Knights since 2019, and fans are convinced it has something to do with Superman.

Warner Bros. Montréal is best known for developing the divisive Batman: Arkham Origins which served as a prequel to Rocksteady's Batman: Arkham series, that including Batman: Arkham Asylum, Batman: Arkham City, and Batman: Arkham Knight. During DC Fandome back during August 2020, Warner Bros. Montréal's next title was officially announced — after much teasing.

Gotham Knights is another game based within the DC Comics franchise but, instead of revolving around Batman, it stars Batman's family of sidekicks: Batgirl, Robin, Nightwing, and Red Hood. This game doesn't take place within the same continuity as the Batman: Arkham games, though it does take place after Bruce Wayne's apparent demise. Gotham Knights is set to launch for PlayStation and Xbox consoles, both current-gen and previous, as well as PC in 2022.

According to the LinkedIn profiles of multiple Warner Bros. Montréal employees (via PCGamesN), Gotham Knights isn't the only game that the studio has been working on for quite some time. Apparently, Warner Bros. Montréal has been developing an additional unannounced game, alongside Gotham Knights, since 2019.

Both senior artist Megan Berry and designer Ade Esan have this project listed on their LinkedIn profiles, the latter's specifying that the unannounced game includes combat and character abilities while the former's confirms that it's "in addition to our current responsibilities on Gotham Knights." Both developers departed the studio in June 2021, however. That is certainly not to say that the project they were working on has been shut down, though; they also worked on Gotham Knights.

What could this mystery game be? We're none the wiser. However, many are speculating that it's likely also something to do with a DC Comics property, probably because that's what the studio is known for. Many are convinced it's the long-fabled and infinitely rumoured Superman video game. We'll just have to wait and see. Whatever this unannounced game may be, Warner Bros. Montréal will likely reveal it once Gotham Knights is said and done, perhaps during the next DC Fandome.

YOUR LEGACY BEGINS NOW. STEP INTO THE KNIGHT.

Batman is dead. A new expansive, criminal underworld has swept the streets of Gotham City. It is now up to the Batman Family; Batgirl, Nightwing, Red Hood, and Robin; to protect Gotham, bring hope to its citizens, discipline to its cops, and fear to its criminals. From solving mysteries that connect the darkest chapters in the city’s history to defeating notorious villains in epic confrontations, you must evolve into the new Dark Knight and save the streets from descent into chaos.

Gotham Knights is an open-world, action RPG set in the most dynamic and interactive Gotham City yet. In either solo-play or with one other hero, patrol Gotham’s five distinct boroughs and drop in on criminal activity wherever you find it.

Gotham Knights launches in 2022 for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

I'd guess it's a relatively smaller game, seeing as Gotham Knight is a huge MP RPG undertaking that's bound to get a couple of DLC campaigns, or maybe another Batman related game. But a man can dream of the fabled Superman game.
