Konami Is Considering Making A New CASTLEVANIA Game And TV Series

Konami European Brand Manager Richard Jones revealed that the company still remembers about the Castlevania brand and is thinking about making a new game, or a continuation of Netflix's mini-series...

In an interview with Miketendo64 Richard Jones, Konami European Brand Manager revealed that the company has some plans for the Castlevania franchise. It's been some time since the last "big" game, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2. Mercury Steam's project didn't sell well and left most of the gamers with rather ambiguous feelings, as it didn't live up to the first chapter of Gabriel's adventures.

Jones ensured the fans that Konami didn't abandon the franchise and sees "a demand for a new game". The manager is also considering making a continuation of the critically acclaimed Netflix's mini-series from this year. He's also teasing a collaboration with Nintendo:

All I can say is that there is lots of internal discussions going on within Konami regarding what games we can bring to the Nintendo Switch, other than Bomberman, a game which we are well aware of its heritage and how loved it and Castlevania is. So much so that Castlevania is getting is getting its own show on Netflix and because of that, we’re hearing a lot of desires from our fans for a new Castlevania series. So we do know there is a demand for a new game, but right now nothing is set in stone as the discussions are still on going.

It would be great to play a new Castlevania game, but Konami has to rethink the old formula as it clearly needs an upgrade. A new Netflix's series would be great too, but the team behind it is currently working on Assassin's Creed, so we'll probably wait for it for a while.
