It's been over two years since Overwatch 2 was officially announced and revealed and yet we seem no closer to the game's actual release. The sequel promises to build on the first instalment with even more multiplayer action, new characters and abilities and even singleplayer content.
The designs of certain characters who are being carried over from the first game have been updated and even some of their actual gameplay abilities. According to this leaker, Mercy's resurrection ability is the next on the chopping block.
@EeveeA_ claims that Mercy's controversial ability that allowed her to resurrect another player from the dead is being replaced with one that has proven to be just as divisive.
It's said that Mercy will instead be given an ability named "Angelic Blessing" that allows her to imbue other players with the temporary ability to fly. And by "fly," it appears to be akin to Mercy's ability to pull herself towards other players using her wings. It's believed that which ever other character is imbued with this ability will similarly adorn Mercy's golden wings.
Some have received this supposed leak well while others think it's an unfair trade-off. Resurrection is, after all, one of the best abilities in the game. However, it is often criticised for being overpowered. What do you think about this change? Have you got any ideas for a new Mercy ability?
