AMONG US: Innersloth's Multiplayer Social Deduction Game Arrives On Nintendo Switch
As of today, Nintendo Switch owners can now get in on 2020's hit social deduction game, Among Us. Sniff out the Impostor at home or on the go on Nintendo's hybrid platform.
2020's surprise hit, Among Us (which actually released in 2018) surprise launched on Nintendo Switch today. The online multiplayer social deduction game is available on Nintendo's hybrid console for just $5.
Among Us supports between four and ten players online or via local WiFi. The concept and mechanics of the game remain the same on the Switch, except now you have the option to play at home or on the go. Cross-platform play is also supported, so Switch users are able to play with those on PC or mobile. Unfortunately, the game is still not available on Xbox or PlayStation due to an issue implementing standard text-based communication.
Among Us ballooned into popularity this year thanks, in part, to the global pandemic. With many gamers forced to self-isolate at home, the multiplayer nature of Among Us had mass appeal.
Of course, the concept is equally as intriguing. In the game, players are randomly assigned as either Crew members or Impostors. The Crew is responsible for completing a set of assigned tasks, while the Imposters must try to prevent them, either by sabotaging systems or murdering them. If a death is discovered, the Crew can try and solve who the killer/imposter is and vote to kick them out. If they are correct, the Crew wins. If not, the game continues.
While Among Us costs $5 on Switch or PC, it's also available to play for free on mobile with ads.
