The event opened with an exciting new trailer that showcased some new gameplay, including Wyvern riding, and even revealed a new monster to hunt: Goss Harag. Making its debut in Monster Hunter Rise, Goss Harag in the snowy fields of Frost Islands, "a new snow-capped and windswept locale that was once the nesting grounds for large dragons, who only the bravest hunters would attempt to slay." The trailer offered us a look at both the new locale and this terrifying new beast that attacks with blades of ice.

The stream also took us on a brief tour of Kamura Village and introduced us to some of the characters you'll be interacting with.

Following the live stream, some additional gameplay walkthroughs were released, offering further details on both wyvern riding as well as the new Wirebug. As previously detailed, the wirebug is a new tool that unlocks all-new mobility options as well as weapon attacks

Perhaps the most exciting announcement was that a demo for the game launched tonight. The demo runs tthrough January 31 and provides a small sampling of what you can experience in the game. Hunters can go on a total of 30 quest attempts, shared between beginner and intermediate settings. All 14 weapons can be tried and hunters can choose to go at it alone or with a group of up to four players. There is also a Training Tutorial and Wyvern Riding training.
