Blizzard Entertainment has officially announced
Diablo Immortal, the next entry in the beloved series, during the opening ceremony of this year's BlizzCon. While many fans of the franchise were hoping to see a proper
Diablo IV, Immortal is a mobile tile that will launch for iOS and Android at some point next year. The title is described as a massively multiplayer online (or - MMO) action role-playing game.
Diablo Immortal is developed by Blizzard in partnership with NetEase, a Chinese tech and gaming company which licenses games from Activision Blizzard, such as
World of Warcraft and
Overwatch and has recently signed a $100 million deal with
Destiny creators Bungie.
Diablo Immortal will pick up after
Diablo II: Lord of Destruction spotlighting the aftermath of the Worldstone breaking apart.
The title will be focuses on online gameplay, allowing you to team up with a friend to battle the daemons. Naturally, there will be several recognizable characters and classes returning to the game such as the Barbarian, Monk, Wizard, Crusader, Demon Hunter and Necromancer and each class will have a set of 12 skills.
