Free Guy is an upcoming American comedy movie originally set to debut in theatres on July 3rd. However, what with the COVID-19 pandemic, the film's release was delayed to December 11th. Ryan Reynolds stars as the titular guy. He's a video game NPC, a bank teller to be specific. Guy becomes self-aware and decides to become the hero of his own story.
The cast also includes Jodie Comer (Killing Eve), Joe Keery (Stranger Things), Lil Rey Howery (Get Out), Utkarsh Ambudkar, and Taika Waititi. Shawn Levy directs a screenplay by Matt Lieberman and Zak Penn.
The first official trailer for Free Guy released back in December; 20th Century Studios recently shared another official trailer for Free Guy as well as an awesome poster. This trailer in particular really shows off the influence of The Truman Show as well as video games like Grand Theft Auto. It seems that Guy doesn't only become sentient but also public enemy number one.
