Free Guy is an upcoming comedy movie starring Ryan Reynolds which will tell the story of a bank teller who isn't pleased with his daily life. However, it turns out that he's just a background character in a brutal open-world video game. With the game's servers about to be shut down, Guy must track down the player and convince him to save the virtual world.

As well as Ryan Reynolds as the titular NPC, the cast includes Joe Keery (Stranger Things), Jodie Comer (Killing Eve), Taika Waititi (Thor Ragnarok), Utkarsh Ambudkar (The Mindy Project), and Lil Rel Howery (Get Out). Shawn Levy (Stranger Things showrunner) directs a screenplay by Matt Lieberman and Zak Penn. Levy, Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter produce.

Thus far, we've only gotten an uninteresting still — which you can check out here — and a poster. However, tomorrow will see the debut of the film's very first official trailer. This was teased by the starring actor over on Twitter.

You can check out his tweet below (via @VancityReynolds) — which features a trio of the aforementioned cast along with Reynolds himself as Guy.

Free Guy is set to arrive in theatres on July 3rd, 2020.
