New Line Cinema and Warner Bros. Pictures are currently working on a live-action
Mortal Kombat movie. Simon McQuoid directs, Greg Russo writes. It's set to arrive in theatres on March 5th, 2021. The movie is pretty stuffed in terms of characters and actors but it's writer has teased that there's more to come —
more on that here.
Thus far, the cast consists of Tadanobu Asano as Raiden, Mehcad Brooks as Jax, Elissa Cadwell as Nitarra, Ng Chin Han as Shang Tsung, Max Huang as Kung Lao, Josh Lawson as Kano, Ludi Lin as Liu Kang, Jessica McNamee as Sonya Blade, Hiroyuki Sanada as Scorpion, Sisi Stringer as Mileena, Joe Taslim as Sub-Zero, and Lewis Tan in an undisclosed role.
Taslim, the actor who will be playing Bi-Han A.K.A. Sub-Zero in the
Mortal Kombat movie, recently took to social media to reply to a fan's tweet about the upcoming movie. The fan made it clear that they're hoping the character is done justice by both the writing and the actor. Taslim assured them that he's giving the part his all and the writing is beautiful.
