There's currently a live-action Mortal Kombat movie in the works at New Line Cinema. Greg Russo is responsible for the script whilst Simon McQuoid directs. At the moment, the film's theatrical release date is March 5th, 2021.

A plethora of characters from the history of the franchise will feature in the film. Thus far; Raiden, Jax, Nitarra, Shang Tsung, Kung Lao, Kano, Liu Kang, Sonya Blade, Scorpion, Mileena, and Sub-Zero have been officially announced. However, we may know four more characters who are set to feature in the movie.

Previously, the film's writer has teased that there's more character and casting announcements to come. Going off some recently revealed set photos, which came courtesy of an Australian politician (@marshall_steven), expect Reptile, Goro, Reiko, and Kabal to pop up in the live-action movie.

As you can see in the background of one of the below photos, there appears to be some concept art strung up which features the aforementioned quartet of characters. The Mortal Kombat community seems pretty confident that they're who they think they are — but it's still worth keeping in mind that there hasn't been an official announcement on their inclusion just yet.

Mortal Kombat movie is set arrive in theatres on March 5th, 2021.
