The Blue Blur is set to speed onto the big screen next month and joining him on this sequel adventure is longtime fan-favorite Tails. Together, the two will square off against Dr. Robotnik and his new secret weapon, Knuckles. Paramount Pictures has released a new poster for Sonic the Hedgehog 2, showing all four of the main characters ready to go to battle.
With Dr. Robotnik returning to Green Hills in search of an emerald with the power to destroy civilizations, Sonic teams up with Tails to embark on a globe-trotting journey to find the emerald before it falls into the wrong hands. Doing so will prove more difficult though as Dr. Robotnik has his own powerful partner in Knuckles.
Sonic the Hedgehog 2 sees the return of stars James Marsden as Tom, Ben Schwartz as the voice of Sonic, and Jim Carrey as Dr. Robotnik. Joining them are newcomers Idris Elba is as the voice of Knuckles and Colleen O'Shaughnessey as the voice of Tails.
Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is set to debut in theaters on April 8, 2022. The highly anticipated sequel will look to capture the same energy as the first which received mostly positive critic reviews, but was absolutely adored by fans, as evidenced by the 93% Audience Score on Rotten Tomatoes.
