Pokémon: The First Movie debuted back in 1998 and, as the title suggests, was the first
Pokémon movie. There have been quite a few since then, twenty-two in total. The latest is
Pokémon: Mewtwo Strikes Back Evolution and originally debuted back in July 2019 (in Japan).
Pokémon: Mewtwo Strikes Back Evolution is a 3D CG remake of the aforementioned
Pokémon movie from 1998. It's identical in story and almost a perfect recreation visually — beyond the 3D aspect and a few minor creative liberties.
In celebration of Pokémon Day, Netflix has added
Pokémon: Mewtwo Strikes Back Evolution to its roster. As of February 27th, the new Pokémon animated movie is available to stream in the West. Already,
Pokémon: Mewtwo Strikes Back Evolution has managed to climb the ranks and reach the sixth space amongst Netflix's Top 10 most-watched items of the week.
Based on the official Netflix page for the animated movie (
which you can check out by clicking here),
Pokémon: Mewtwo Strikes Back Evolution is rated PG and is 1hr37mins. The voice cast includes Sarah Natochenny, Dan Green, and Bill Rogers.
