Paramount Pictures teased that the first official trailer for the Sonic the Hedgehog 2 video game movie would be released on November 25th, Thanksgiving, but that didn't seem come to fruition. Now a reputable leaker has revealed some tantalising information about said trailer.
Sonic the Hedgehog sped into theaters in early 2020, just before the pandemic took over, and a sequel was confirmed not long after. Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is scheduled for theaters on April 8th, 2022 — for the United States, at least. That's less than half a year away and yet the sequel's first trailer is yet to be released.
Fear not, though, as verified Twitter leaker @BigScreenLeaks has shared some information on the official trailer. According to the reputable leaker (via Toonado), the first official trailer is just over two minutes in length and has been fully edited, meaning it's ready to be released at any moment. Most intriguingly, the first trailer for Sonic the Hedgehog 2 will apparently feature our first look at Knuckles.
Ben Schwartz as the voice of Sonic the Hedgehog will be joined by Idris Elba as the voice of Knuckles in the sequel and Colleen O'Shaughnessey will also feature as the voice of Tails. The latter actually briefly featured in the first Sonic the Hedgehog movie but only in its post-credits scene.
The reputable leaker unfortunately isn't certain when the first official trailer for Sonic the Hedgehog 2 will be dropping but given that they assert it has been fully edited, it isn't a stretch to assume it's coming soon — probably before Christmas.
