Last week, a reputable leaker revealed some details about the first official trailer for the upcoming video game movie sequel that is Sonic the Hedgehog 2. This film will be directed by Jeff Fowler just like the first and also see the return of Jim Carrey as Dr. Robotnik and Ben Schwartz as Sonic the Hedgehog himself. It's set to debut in theaters on the 8th of April, 222.
According to the aforementioned leaker, work on the film trailer has been completed, Paramount Pictures are simply sitting on it until the time is right to release it. Thanks to an exchange on social media, we may now know when the trailer will be hitting the web (via Toonado).
Geoff Keighley, the host and manager of The Game Awards, recently had a back and forth with the official Twitter account of the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise on the social media. The Sonic the Hedgehog account requested an invite to the event, which is set to take place on December 9th, to which Keighley obliged.
The Game Awards will be livestreamed on Thursday and feature a plethora of exciting new content and trailers, not to mention the awards themselves. We will be sure to cover most, if not all, of them (including the Sonic the Hedgehog 2 trailer) once they drop — so be sure to keep up with Gamefragger.
