Earlier this year, Paramount Pictures released the very first trailer for their live-action
Sonic the Hedgehog movie which stars James Marsden, Jim Carrey, and Ben Schwartz — the latter of those two play Dr. Robotnik and Sonic respectively. Suffice it to say, fans of
Sonic the Hedgehog were not fans of the trailer and especially not the titular character's redesigned look.
The backlash against Sonic's uncanny design became so immense that the movie's director took to Twitter to announce that they would delay the film in order to rework the look. That was month ago and we got our first look at Sonic the Hedgehog's redone character design earlier this month —
thanks to a couple of leaked images which you can check out here.
Even more recently than that, a photo of a theatre standee has surfaced online which reveals yet another look at Sonic's new appearance. While there were those who questioned the leaked images before now, this should settle the case that they are legitimate and this is the design that Paramount have been cooking up for months.
However, it still isn't official as the photo comes courtesy of
@TailsChannel. When we will hear from Paramount and officially get a look at the new design is currently unknown. Check out the tweet below:
Sonic the Hedgehog will now release in theatres on February 14th, 2019.
