On February 14th,
Sonic the Hedgehog will race into theatres. The upcoming, live-action movie is based on the video game franchise and character of the same name. Ben Schwartz voices the titular speedster, Jim Carrey plays Dr. Robotnik, James Marsden plays Tom Wachowski, Tika Sumpter plays Maddie Wachowksi, and Jeff Fowler directs.
With the film's release fast approaching, more and more stills and TV spots are being released. A plethora of new stills dropped last week —
which you can check out here — and now there's another four to add to the collection. These awesome, new stills come courtesy of a Ukranian film distributor and
Tails' Channel brought them to everybody's attention.
The first of the new shots features the titular speedster, his eyes glowing blue, ready to pounce away. The second shows Tom Wachowski as he reads his Speed Gun (yes, that seems to be what they're actually called) and Sonic eerily watches from behind with a smile on his face.
There's a shot which shows what could be Tom and Sonic bidding each other farewell and there's also one that features Jim Carrey as Dr. Robotnik — Agent Stone at his side and Neal McDonough as some sort of US Army person. Check out the new shots below:
Based on the global blockbuster videogame franchise from Sega, SONIC THE HEDGEHOG tells the story of the world’s speediest hedgehog as he embraces his new home on Earth. In this live-action adventure comedy, Sonic and his new best friend Tom (James Marsden) team up to defend the planet from the evil genius Dr. Robotnik (Jim Carrey) and his plans for world domination. The family-friendly film also stars Tika Sumpter and Ben Schwartz as the voice of Sonic.
