Now in theatres; Sonic the Hedgehog stars Ben Schwartz as the voice of the titular speedster, Jim Carrey as Dr. Robotnik, and James Marsden as Tom Wachowski. The latter will be particularly relevant here as; some new pieces of concept art have surfaced online and one of them features Chris Evans in the role of Tom Wachowski.

Evans is best known for playing the star spangled man A.K.A. Captain America in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It's unknown whether director Jeff Fowler originally wanted Evans to play the character but this concept art could suggest that. Alternatively, the concept artist may have just used the likeness of Evans as nobody had yet been cast in the role.

You can check out that piece of concept art below but it wasn't the only piece to surface online recently. Twitter user Marx Fan also came across a piece that features a scary and scaly alternate villain.  Speculation has it that the villain has something to do with Lyric from Sonic Boom. Obviously, this villain never wound up appearing in the movie itself — but perhaps they will feature in a sequel.

Sonic the Hedgehog is a live-action adventure comedy based on the global blockbuster videogame franchise from Sega that centers on the infamously brash bright blue hedgehog. The film follows the (mis)adventures of Sonic as he navigates the complexities of life on Earth with his newfound – human – best friend Tom Wachowski (James Marsden). Sonic and Tom join forces to try and stop the villainous Dr. Robotnik (Jim Carrey) from capturing Sonic and using his immense powers for world domination. The film also stars Tika Sumpter and Ben Schwartz as the voice of Sonic.
