There's only a month to go until Sonic the Hedgehog arrives in theatres for the very first time. Ben Schwartz stars as the voice of the titular speedster, Jim Carrey plays the dastardly Dr. Robotnik, and the cast also includes James Marsden and Tika Sumpter. Jeff Fowler directs the live-action movie based on the video game series of the same name.

Recently, a consistently reliable source by the name of Daniel Ahmad stated that the upcoming video game movie will get a theatrical release in Mainland China. This is the first that we've heard of this but Ahmad tends to be on the money with his scoops. Though, he does mention that he's not yet aware of the theatrical release date for China.

However, Ahmad paired this bit of information with a brand new poster for the Sonic the Hedgehog movie — specifically one meant for Chinese audiences. As you can see below, it's pretty simplistic but still eye-catching, colourful, and cool. The titular speedster can be seen racing through a recongisable golden ring.

Sonic the Hedgehog is a live-action adventure comedy based on the global blockbuster videogame franchise from Sega that centers on the infamously brash bright blue hedgehog. The film follows the (mis)adventures of Sonic as he navigates the complexities of life on Earth with his newfound – human – best friend Tom Wachowski (James Marsden). Sonic and Tom join forces to try and stop the villainous Dr. Robotnik (Jim Carrey) from capturing Sonic and using his immense powers for world domination. The film also stars Tika Sumpter and Ben Schwartz as the voice of Sonic.

Sonic the Hedgehog races into theatres on February 14th, 2020.
