With the live-action video game movie's release approaching fast, Paramount Pictures has collaborated with Twitter and Instagram to release a spruce up
Sonic the Hedgehog's social media presence.
When somebody uses the
#SonicMovie or
#CatchSonic hashtags, alongside the text will now appear a small image of the titular speedster. This is known as a hashflag and it was voted on by followers of the official
Sonic the Hedgehog Twitter account (
@SonicMovie) — as you can see below.
Similarly, Instagram has introduced an official filter to tie-in with the
Sonic the Hedgehog movie. With this, you simply show your face to the camera and the filter will assign you a mood using images of Sonic from the upcoming movie — be it him cheering, looking concerned, detemined, etc. Be sure to try it out.
Sonic the Hedgehog is a live-action adventure comedy based on the global blockbuster videogame franchise from Sega that centers on the infamously brash bright blue hedgehog. The film follows the (mis)adventures of Sonic as he navigates the complexities of life on Earth with his newfound – human – best friend Tom Wachowski (James Marsden). Sonic and Tom join forces to try and stop the villainous Dr. Robotnik (Jim Carrey) from capturing Sonic and using his immense powers for world domination. The film also stars Tika Sumpter and Ben Schwartz as the voice of Sonic.
Sonic the Hedgehog races into theatres on February 14th, 2020.
