We are only a little bit over a month away from the release of Paramount Pictures'
Sonic the Hedgehog live-action movie, and the studio has already begun marketing the upcoming film in full force.
What could be considered the biggest marketing campaign — even when it was actually, most definitely, not intentional — is the movie's first trailer, which broke the hearts of fans due to how unapologetically bad Sonic looked; giving the movie a lot of attention, for all the wrong reasons.
Thankfully, Sonic's god-awful design has since been changed, and the latest trailer for the
Sonic the Hedgehog movie has successfully managed to peak the fans' interest for the first once-doomed live-action movie for Sega's beloved Blue Blur.
Today, Ben Schwartz — the actor who will be providing the voice for Sonic — has shared yet another poster that gives us a look at the titular character ready to start rolling around at the speed of sound when the
Sonic the Hedgehog movie finally hits theatres on Valentine's day.
Take a look:
Sonic the Hedgehog is a live-action adventure comedy based on the global blockbuster videogame franchise from Sega that centers on the infamously brash bright blue hedgehog. The film follows the (mis)adventures of Sonic as he navigates the complexities of life on Earth with his newfound – human – best friend Tom Wachowski (James Marsden). Sonic and Tom join forces to try and stop the villainous Dr. Robotnik (Jim Carrey) from capturing Sonic and using his immense powers for world domination. The film also stars Tika Sumpter and Ben Schwartz as the voice of Sonic.
Sonic the Hedgehog is spin-dashing into theatres on the 14th of February in 2020.
