While Uncharted has received something of a mixed response from critics and hardcore fans of the Naughty Dog video game series, it boasts an impressive 90% Audience Score on Rotten Tomatoes and looks set to spawn a new franchise for Sony Pictures after a bigger than expected opening.
With the money continuing to pour in (appropriate for a film about a couple of treasure hunters, eh?), concept artist Imogene Chayes has shared some of her costume designs for Nathan Drake.
Say what you will about Uncharted, but Tom Holland certainly looks the part and he's received actor Nolan North's seal of approval. That's good enough for us, and we're definitely looking forward to seeing him return in a sequel that, hopefully, can learn from the first movie's shortcomings.
"The Uncharted games remain in a league of their own," reads our CBM review, "but this movie captures their essence and delivers a rip-roaring, swashbuckling adventure with heaps of unexpected twists, full-throttle action, and another standout performance from Tom Holland."
Take a look at this newly revealed Uncharted concept art below:
"Street-smart thief Nathan Drake is recruited by seasoned treasure hunter Victor "Sully" Sullivan to recover a fortune lost by Ferdinand Magellan 500 years ago," reveals the new synopsis. "What starts as a heist job for the duo becomes a globe-trotting, white-knuckle race to reach the prize before the ruthless Moncada, who believes he and his family are the rightful heirs. If Nate and Sully can decipher the clues and solve one of the world’s oldest mysteries, they stand to find $5 billion in treasure and perhaps even Nate’s long-lost brother...but only if they can learn to work together."
Directed by Ruben Fleischer from a screenplay by Rafe Judkins and Art Marcum & Matt Holloway, the movie stars Tom Holland, Mark Wahlberg, Sophia Ali, Tati Gabrielle, and Antonio Banderas.
Uncharted is now playing in theaters.
