Sony has been trying to get an Uncharted movie up and running for quite a while now. Once upon a time, Mark Wahlberg was attached to play Nathan Drake. However, now he's on-board to play Victor "Sully" Sullivan. Tom Holland (Spider-Man: Far From Home) will star as PlayStation's iconic adventurer.

Last month, Holland revealed that the movie would be based on Uncharted 4: A Thief's Endmore on that here. The star also revealed that production will be kicking off in mere weeks. Variety has reported that Ruben Fleischer has been cemented as the Uncharted movie's director. It was reported that Sony were eyeing the Venom director after the departure of Travis Knight (Bumblebee).

Additionally, Antonio Banderas has joined the cast. Banderas is an Academy Award-nominated actor who recently starred in Pain and Glory. Information about his role hasn't yet been disclosed. Sophia Ali (Grey's Anatomy) and Tati Gabrielle (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina) hae also joined the cast. It's said they will play key roles but details have similarly not been divulged.

Uncharted is set to arrive in theatres on March 5th, 2021.
