Developer Phoenix Labs has announced that
Dauntless will be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC (as another Epic Games Store exclusive) on May 21, 2019. When it comes to the "PC" part, the title will be purchasable only on the EGS, avoiding Steam and any other digital distribution platform.
The
Monster Hunter: World-esque video game will fully support cross-play and cross-progression between PS4, XO and PC at launch. What's even better,
Dauntless is a free-to-play title, which means that you won't be forced to pay a single penny for the upcoming role-playing game if you don't want to.
The Nintendo Switch and smartphone versions of
Dauntless are also in the works and are planned for release later in the year – but Phoenix Labs hasn't released further details on those ports yet.
In other news, IGN has uploaded over 20 minutes of brand-new
Dauntless gameplay footage, putting the spotlight on in-game personalization tools, killing enormous monsters, harvesting their valuable parts, and later using them to craft even better weapons to kill even bigger beasts. Take a look:
Powerful, wild, and ravenous for the aether that holds the Shattered Isles aloft, Behemoths are a threat to our very existence. Team up with other Slayers to confront these massive beasts before they consume what's left of our world. Discover your strengths and refine your skills as you fight alongside up to three other Slayers. Whether you choose to hunt with real-life companions or match with Slayers across the globe, you'll always have a friend in the fight.
Dauntless is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and the Epic Games Store on May 21, 2019.
