According to EA CEO Andrew Wilson and CFO Blake Jorgensen,
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is expected to sell between 6 to 8 million copies during this fiscal year – technically by the end of March 31, 2020.
Unlike most of EA's modern games, Respawn Entertainment's
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order will be a story-driven single-player experience without any additional multiplayer modes, microtransactions, loot boxes, or other unnecessary fluff and padding that almost killed
Star Wars: Battlefront II at launch.
Given that EA was expecting to ship at least five to six million units of
Anthem before the end of last March, it looks like the company has pretty similar sales expectations for
Fallen Order, and with the
Star Wars brand attached to the project, there's a chance that Respawn's game will match EA's goals.
In
Fallen Order, the player takes on the role of Cal Kestis, a young Padawan brought to life by Cameron Monaghan (
Shameless, Gotham’s Joker), who has miraculously managed to survive Order 66, the Jedi purge that took place right after Supreme Chancellor Palpatine became the Emperor. Take a look:
Cal Kestis—one of the last surviving members of the Jedi Order after the purge of Order 66—is now a Padawan on the run. Experience this all-new single-player Star Wars story from Respawn Entertainment and EA Star Wars on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC this holiday season. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is an action-adventure game set after Star Wars: Episode III — Revenge of the Sith. Develop your Force abilities, hone your lightsaber techniques, and explore the ancient mysteries of a long-lost civilization—all while staying one step ahead of the Empire and its deadly Inquisitors.
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on November 15, 2019.
