Shantae and the Seven Sirens was announced by developer WayForward back in March of last year, and it was expected to release at some point before the end of the year. In December, however, the developer announced that the game would no longer be meeting its initial release date; pushing it back to 2020.
Players know very well that delaying a game is always in their best interest, so they were very supporting when they found out that the latest entry in the Shantae series was being delayed. The problem was that the developer didn't really give us a tentative date for the game's launch either.
Thankfully, WayForward has finally revealed that Shantae and the Seven Sirens will be releasing for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC on the 28th of May. It is also worth mentioning that the game is currently available for Apple Arcade subscribers; at least, what the developer calls Part 1 of the game.
With the official release date announcement, the developer has also taken the opportunity to release a proper gameplay trailer for Shantae and the Seven Sirens, so be sure to check it out down below and let us know your thoughts in the comments section!
