The road to the full release of Path of Exile 2 keeps getting more rewarding. Grinding Gear Games has confirmed that the community has now unlocked two free cosmetic effects through its full release registration campaign, and the studio is reminding players that there are still three more rewards waiting to be unlocked before launch.
The update arrived on the official Path of Exile X account two days ago, along with an important warning for anyone already playing: "Early Access players need to sign up too!"
How The Registration Rewards Work
The campaign is simple. Players enter their email address on the official Path of Exile 2 registration page, then confirm the sign-up through the email Grinding Gear Games sends them. The more people who register, the more rewards everyone receives.
In its latest announcement on Steam, the studio explained that "the community has reached two milestones, meaning everyone who has registered will receive two cosmetic effects when Path of Exile 2 launches as a free-to-play game on December 11th PST."
Here is the full list of rewards, according to the official registration page:
- Soulflame Crown Helmet Attachment: The base reward, guaranteed for everyone who registers.
- Soulflame Weapon Effect: Unlocked at 1 million registrations.
- Soulflame Portal: Unlocks at 2 million registrations.
- Chained Chimera Wings: Unlocks at 3 million registrations.
- Scourgeborn Boar Pet: Unlocks at 4 million registrations.
The Soulflame Weapon Effect was unlocked last month (September 21st), when Grinding Gear Games confirmed that everyone who registered "will receive at least two exclusive cosmetic effects." If the community hits all four milestones, every registered player will walk away with five cosmetics.
The studio also says these items are exclusive to the promotion and will not be available in the in-game store, so this is the only way to get them.
Early Access Does Not Count
The biggest thing for current players to know is that owning Path of Exile 2 in Early Access does not automatically qualify you. Grinding Gear Games stated that "purchasing Early Access will not automatically grant you these rewards. You will need to sign up even if you are already an existing player."
The studio also reminded players to check their inboxes, since a registration only counts once it has been confirmed through the follow-up email. Players also need to still be subscribed to the mailing list when the rewards are sent out.
Once the game fully launches, Grinding Gear Games will begin emailing reward codes to everyone who registered. According to the registration FAQ, the codes can be redeemed on any Path of Exile account, though each account can only redeem one code. Console players on PlayStation and Xbox can claim the rewards as well, as long as their Path of Exile account is linked to their console account.
Path Of Exile 2 Goes Free-To-Play In December
The registration campaign is building toward a huge moment for the game. Path of Exile 2 has been in paid Early Access since December 2024, and Grinding Gear Games announced at gamescom in August that the 1.0 full release will arrive on December 11th. At that point, the action RPG becomes fully free-to-play on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
The full release will also introduce the Duelist, a long-requested class that fights with swords, along with the game's remaining two acts and plenty of other new content.
Before then, fans also have ExileCon 2026 to look forward to. The event takes place on November 7th and 8th NZT in New Zealand and will be livestreamed on Twitch and YouTube, with Grinding Gear Games promising a keynote with big announcements.
Do you think the Path of Exile 2 community will unlock all five registration rewards before December 11th, or will the Scourgeborn Boar Pet stay out of reach?
