The
Assassin's Creed series is currently developed by two Ubisoft studios - one in Montreal and the other in Quebec, Canada. Last year's reimagination of the franchise,
Origins, was created by a plenty of Ubisoft divisions with the Montreal crew at the helm. The recently released RPG-focused
Odyssey was designed by the team in Quebec, giving both studios more time to develop their projects.
While Ubisoft has announced that there will be no new
Assassin's Creed in 2019, it's obvious that the French developer is already working on at least two new entries in their flagship series. Ashraf Ismail, Director of the critically acclaimed
Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag and last year's
Origins, has revealed that he's currently looking for a senior writer who must be open to relocating to Montreal.
This person will join "
amazing team & an incredible AAA project," strongly suggesting that we're talking about a continuation of
Watch_Dogs 2 or
Assassin's Creed Odyssey. A quick look at Ismail's impressive portfolio basically confirms that he's working on a new
Assassin's Creed that might leak soon, as Kotaku's Jason Schreier has revealed that he already knows where the next
AC takes place.
