In The Wake Of Controversies Surrounding FOR HONOR, Ubisoft Reverts Decision To Remove 600 Cosmetics Items

It took Ubisoft one day to realize how nonsensical their decision to remove For Honor's cosmetic items was, as the studio has decided to keep the content in the game thanks to the community's feedback...

Just two days ago, Ubisoft Community Developer Eric Pope established on Reddit the ambitious plan to remove over 600 cosmetic For Honor items to hopefully resolve the game's apparent crowded menus issue. Players’ reaction was unanimously negative, as many members of For Honor community interpreted the change as a short-term cash grab to uprate Q1 sales report coming later this month.

Ubisoft revealed yesterday that this plan and the decision to remove 600 For Honor cosmetics have been scrapped. "Following the announcement on the Summer Sale and content availability update, we want to thank for your feedback and give you an update," the developer wrote on Reddit. "With all this feedback and after reevaluating our plans, our team's decided to keep the content in the game and not withdraw the items and the sale will continue as planned until July 19th."

But things will change, as cosmetic items that are nine months old will be put into rotation and when they return they will be cheaper than usual. "We want to apologize on how we communicated these potential changes. [...] we built what we believe to be a strong relationship with you all. Your feedback has been driving the production efforts including the various features and improvements we have made," Pope explained. The For Honor Summer Sale will also continue as planned. Hopefully, Ubisoft will think twice before creating and resolving a problem a day alter, next time...
