Tokyo Game Show has already kicked off, and the developers at Capcom have taken the opportunity to talk about some of the games they are currently working on, and that are expected to release next year; including titles in the Resident Evil and Monster Hunter series.

Earlier this morning, in fact, Capcom shared a behind the scenes video for Resident Evil Village, which revealed a bunch of interesting details about the game, and how the developers are approaching this new entry in the long-running survival-horror series in order to keep things fresh for long-time players.

During Capcom's presentation at the Tokyo Game Show, Resident Evil Village Producer Tsuyoshi Kanda has revealed quite the interesting news, confirming that current-gen versions of the upcoming title are being considered at the time, although nothing is final just yet.

"While Resident Evil Village is being developed specifically for next-generation consoles and PC, we're looking into delivering the experience on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One as well. We're looking into it, but we can't make any promises," Kanda explained.

He then adds: "However, we will do our best in creating a top-tier survival-horror experience on current generation consoles."

This is certainly some great news if Capcom manages to successfully port Resident Evil Village to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Depending on when the game releases, they may even give current-gen console owners the chance to upgrade to the next-gen version of the game, but we'll have to wait until more details are officially revealed.

Resident Evil Village still doesn't have an official release date, but it is expected to launch next year; hopefully for current-gen consoles too.

Years after the tragic events of Resident Evil 7 biohazard, Ethan Winters has started over with his wife Mia, finally living in peace and putting the past behind them. However, Chris Redfield, the legendary hero from previous Resident Evil games, suddenly disrupts their life, throwing a devastated Ethan into a new and twisted nightmare in search of answers.

Resident Evil Village is expected to release for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC in 2021.
