Rockstar has finally revealed the release date and trailer for Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition, and we're pretty confident you're going to be impressed by everything you see here...

We've been waiting on this news, but Rockstar has finally confirmed that Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition will be released Digitally on November 11, with physical editions following on December 7. That's accompanied by a trailer offering a much better idea of what to expect; the games certainly look like they used to, albeit with some major improvements visually.

These don't look like full-blown remastered editions of the trilogy, but a lot of work has clearly gone into improving the visuals. With that in mind, we're anticipating something really special from this release, and it's going to be a blast revisiting these without those PS2-era graphics (now, they look like stylized modern games and this footage even compares the old versions to these).

"Three iconic cities, three epic stories," reads the synopsis. "Play the genre-defining classics of the original Grand Theft Auto Trilogy: Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas updated for a new generation, now with across-the-board enhancements including brilliant new lighting and environmental upgrades, with high-resolution textures, increased draw distances, Grand Theft Auto V-style controls and targeting, and much more, bringing these beloved worlds to life with all new levels of detail."

The biggest takeaway from that, of course, is the fact each of the games will have "Grand Theft Auto V-style controls and targeting." That's a huge change to all three games as it wasn't until Grand Theft Auto IV that we finally got a much-improved combat system, particularly in regards to shooting.

Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition is set to be released on Xbox Series X, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
