Avalanche Studios and Square Enix's destructive video-game series; Just Cause is set to be adapted into a movie. The popular video-games series consists of four instalments which tell the tale of Rico Rodriguez and his fight against a nefarious group known as The Black Hand. It's said that the film will follow the same plight:
"The series draws its name from the 1989 United States invasion of Panama, code-named Operation Just Cause. The action takes place on various islands. The film will follow Rico Rodriguez (aka “The Scorpion”) on a race-against-time mission to stop the lethal mercenary group the Black Hand."
According to a new report by Variety, the game series will be adapted into a film by the creatives behind the John Wick movie series. Derek Kolstad wrote John Wick and will do the same for the Just Cause movie.
Robert Kulzer and Adrian Askarieh, of Constantin Film and Prime Universe Films respectively, will produce. These producers have been involved with video-game movies in the past; Askarieh produced the Hitman movies, while Kulzer did for the Resident Evil franchise.
