The NBA Is Looking To Launch An Official eSports League
NBA commissioner Adam Silver recently announced that the National Basketball Association is currently looking into partnering with Take-Two Interactive and starting an official NBA 2K eSports league.
According to the Wall Street Journal, NBA commissioner Adam Silver has revealed that the league is in the preliminary stages of creating an offical NBA eSports league with NBA 2K17 developer Take-Two Interactive. "Think of eBulls against the eKnicks," is what Silver teased to the outlet.
Silver further broke down the plans for the league as a single tournament lasting five months, complete with a regular season, playoff brackets and a championship game. A team of five-players will create teams filled with custom NBA 2K players and there will even be a draft. Silver cautioned that none of the 30 NBA teams have signed on for the project at this stage but he hopes to have at least half n board for the eSports league's first season.
Cynical gamers are already looking forward to the day in the distant future where eSports NBA is more popular than the actual NBA.
