In just a few weeks, Mortal Kombat 1: Khaos Reigns, the latest expansion for the critically acclaimed fighting game from NetherRealm Studios, will be released. The expansion will introduce the next chapter in the narrative Story mode and feature six new playable characters in Kombat Pack 2: Cyrax, Sektor, Noob Saibot, Ghostface (from Scream), T-1000 (from Terminator 2: Judgement Day), and Conan the Barbarian.
Following last month's trailer focusing on Cyrax, we've got a new trailer that spotlights Sektor The trailer highlights some of the reimagined story for Sektor in the Mortal Kombat 1 Universe while also showcasing an in-depth look at the character's deadly abilities and moveset.
While the story may be new, Sektor's use of advanced weaponry should feel quite familiar to fans. In the trailer, we see her make use of a flamethrower, missile strikes, and rocket thrusters for enhanced movement and hovering. We also get a glimpse of Sektor's Animality, a brutal finishing move that sees her morph into a rhinoceros to annihilate her defeated opponents.
In Fire God Liu Kang’s New Era, Sektor grew up immersed in Lin Kuei culture – her father was its master armorer, and her mother was a leading warrior. This vast knowledge of weaponry and formidable martial skills passed down from her parents make Sektor a kombatant like no other. Sensing a kindred spirit, Sub-Zero shared with her his grand vision for the Lin Kuei's future and chose her to become his most trusted lieutenant. Now Sektor will force the Lin Kuei to evolve and those who cannot change will be eliminated.
Sektor will be available as a playable character, alongside Cyrax and Noob Saibot, on September 24 when Kombat Pack 2 arrives with Mortal Kombat 1: Khaos Reigns. However, the three remaining Kombat Pack 2 DLC characters — Ghostface, T-1000, and Conan the Barbarian — will arrive post-launch at a date later to be announced.
The expansion will release digitally at 8:00 a.m. PDT / 10:00 am. EDT for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC. It is currently available for pre-order for $49.99 (or $39.99 on Switch).
