With just two weeks to go until the release of Mortal Kombat 1: Khaos Reigns, Warner Bros. Games and NetherRealm have released a trailer showcasing Noob Saibot, one of the six new playable characters coming to the fighting game.

The trailer not only shows off Noob Saibot's moveset, but also provides some intriguing backstory and his current role within the reimagined Mortal Kombat 1 universe.

In Fire God Liu Kang’s New Era, a godly Havik from another timeline stole Bi-Han’s soul to create the perfect henchman: Noob Saibot. As Sub-Zero, Bi-Han was the Lin Kuei’s ruthless Grandmaster who dreamed of making his clan a dominant force in Earthrealm. As Noob Saibot, Bi-Han is dedicated to fomenting anarchy. He will not rest until all forms of authority are eradicated.

As far as gameplay, Noob Saibot makes use of teleportation to slam down opponents, ghostly projectiles that can detonate with explosive energy after attaching to foes, and the power to use an array of shadow-assisted attacks to defeat his opponents. We also get a glimpse of his Animality, which allows him to morph into a crocodile to truly finish his opponents.

Mortal Kombat 1: Khaos Reigns is set to arrive on September 24, 2024. The expansion will include kombat Pack 2 which features six playable characters. However, only Cyrax, Sektor, and Noob Saibot will be available when the expansion launches. The other three remaining guest fighters — Ghostface (Scream franchise), T-1000 (Terminator 2: Judgement Day), and Conan the Barbarian — will arrive post-launch with release timing to be announced at a later date.

Mortal Kombat 1: Khaos Reigns will release digitally at 8 a.m. PDT / 10 a.m. CDT / 11 a.m. EDT for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC (Steam and Epic Games Store) on September 24. The expansion is currently available for pre-order for $49.99 ($39.99 on Nintendo Switch). Anyone who pre-orders will receive four new character skins: Wedding Scorpion, Empress Mileena, and klassic Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 versions of Sub-Zero and Noob Saibot.

For those who don't already own Mortal Kombat 1, there's also the Khaos Reigns Kollection. Available for $89.99 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC and $79.99 for Nintendo Switch, this includes the main Mortal Kombat 1 game, the first Kombat Pack, 1,250 Dragon Krystals (in-game currency), and access to the Khaos Reigns expansion when it launches on September 24.

There's also the Khaos Reigns Bundle — $59.99 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC and $49.99 on Switch— which includes access to the previously released Kombat Pack 1 featuring six characters (Omni-Man, Quan Chi, Peacemaker, Ermac, Homelander, and Takeda Takahashi), five Kameo Fighters (Tremor, Khameleon, Janet Cage, Mavado, and Ferra), and the Jean-Claude Van Damme character skin for Johnny Cage.
