MORTAL KOMBAT 11 Tops 12 Million Units Sold Worldwide!

Warner Bros. Games has announced that the Mortal Kombat franchise, and Mortal Kombat 11 in particular, has hit some pretty impressive milestones!

Warner Bros. Games announced today that the latest entry in the legendary and award-winning fighting franchise, Mortal Kombat 11, has sold more than 12 million units worldwide!

Since the original game launch of Mortal Kombat in 1992, the franchise has sold more than 73 million console video game units worldwide to date. Not only has it pushed a lot of games, it has also spawned three live-action films, animated movies and several series for television. Mortal Kombat Mobile has done well too with over 138 million installs.

“When Mortal Kombat launched nearly 30 years ago, I never dreamed it would grow into the franchise it is today with more than 73 million games sold,” said Ed Boon, Creative Director at NetherRealm Studios and Co-Creator of Mortal Kombat. “We have some of the most passionate fans in the world and we appreciate the support they have shown us over the years.”

Mortal Kombat 11 has becom the fastest selling title in the Mortal Kombat franchise history since its original launch in April 2019. Mortal Kombat Ultimate, the lastest edition of the game launched in November 2020 and offering an expanded version of th ecritically acclaimed Mortal Kombat 11, has earned several awards including "Fighting Game of the Year: at the 23rd and 24th D.I.C.E. Awards.
