DOOM Eternal was announced during Bethesda's E3 presentation back in 2018, and the game immediately became one of the most talked-about titles of the event. This was to be expected, considering that
DOOM(2016) — the first game in the new series — received a lot of praise for reinventing the FPS genre.
This isn't the first time that
DOOM has reinvented the first-person shooter genre, since the original
DOOM single-handedly defined it back in the 90s, and hopefully the soon-to-be-released
DOOM Eternal will also contribute to the genre in the same way previous titles have.
DOOM Eternal was supposed to launch in November of last year, but it was unfortunately pushed back to March of this year. Fans were unsurprisingly supportive of Bethesda and id Software's decision, as they knew that the developers wanted to give players the proper
DOOM experience.
The great news is that
DOOM Eternal is only a mere 8 days from finally hitting store shelves, and Bethesda has today released the final trailer for the highly anticipated title — which sees the Slayer being welcomed home by hordes of demons that will soon wish they never met him.
Check it out:
DOOM Eternal puts you in control of the DOOM Slayer as you blow apart new and classic demons with powerful weapons in unbelievable and never-before-seen worlds. Experience the ultimate combination of speed and power as you rip and tear your way across dimensions with the next leap in push-forward, first-person combat.
DOOM Eternal will be available for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC on the 20th of March.
