On the Halo Waypoint blog, it was announced that Dan Ayoub would be leaving the 343 team. The studio head has decided to venture into a more technologically educated path, such as VR gaming. Ayoub will now be working on Mixed Reality projects, things that venture past the HoloLens.

Ayoub has been working on Halo based projects since 2009 with the fan loved Halo: Reach, and has concluded his journey with the recently released RTS Halo Wars 2. Now, the future of both Halo Wars 2 and the inevitable installments into the core Halo series are going to be headed up by Ayoub's past colleagues.

"Over the years, Dan has helped us work with amazing studios and partners from literally every corner of the globe. They, like us, are going to miss him, and Dan wanted us to express his thanks to both those partners, and to all the Halo fans and community who've been the fuel and fire that have ignited his passion and ambition, throughout the years."
