The Call of Duty franchise is riding a high as of late what with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare being the best-selling instalment in years and the recently released Call of Duty: Warzone battle royale amassing millions of players each and every day. Well, they're not all that the franchise has going for it at the moment.
After countless leaks and rumours, Activision has officially announced Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered. The title itself is pretty self-explanatory but to be clear; Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered is a modern remake of the iconic singleplayer story mode which originally featured in 2009's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.
You read that right; only the singleplayer mode has been remastered, not the multiplayer nor Spec Ops. This is certainly a shame given that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2's multiplayer is considered one of the best in the franchise's history and many look back on it fondly.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered is now available for the PlayStation 4 and will be exclusively available on Sony's current-generation console for thirty days — that is to say until April 30th, 2020. On the PlayStation Store; the game costs $19.99/£19.99.
Purchasing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered entitles players to a Call of Duty: Modern Warfare bundle which features the UDT Classic Ghost Skin, two weapon blueprints, a weapon charm, a finishing move, a voice quip, an animated calling card, an emblem, and a pair of Battle Pass tier skips.
