Blizzard has announced plans to reveal new content for its team-based multiplayer game Overwatch, including the premiere of a new animated short, at gamescom this week in Cologne, Germany.

Blizzard is kicking off the first public day of gamescom 2018 with an Overwatch panel starting at 11:15 a.m. CEST on Wednesday, 22. The "Overwatch: New Content Reveal" will be held on the main stage and will presumably feature a look at Blizzard's upcoming plans for the popular game which is now over two years old.

Following the content reveal, Blizzard will debut a new animated short. A teaser was shared on Twitter, but fans will be able to watch the full animated short when it debuts via YouTube. It's unclear if the short will be related to the new content reveal, but it would make sense if it were.

Gamescom 2018 runs from Tuesday, August 21 through Saturday, August 25. In addition to Overwatch, Blizzard will showcase its many other games, including Diablo III, StarCraft II, World of Warcraft, and more.
