It's been a pretty rough week for Electronic Arts. Following the early access launch of Star Wars: Battlefront 2, the publisher has
received some pretty intense (and record-breaking) fan backlash regarding its in-game pricing for unlocking heroes such as Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader. Though EA responded swiftly,
reducing the amount of credits required to unlock top heroes by 75%, not everyone is letting them off the hook that easy.
StarCraft developer Blizzard Entertainment wasted no time hopping on the bandwagon, savagely roasting EA for its ridiculous monetization strategies.
Of course, Blizzard's popular action-strategy game StarCraft 2 went free-to-play today. The entire Wings of Liberty campaign is now playable free of charge, and those who have already purchased Wings of Liberty can get a free copy of Heart of the Swarm, the game's second expansion. This also includes free access to the game's cooperative mode and competitive multiplayer.
