PopCap Games and EA have officially announced that they're working on a brand new instalment in the Plants vs. Zombies video game franchise. The official Twitter account of Plants vs. Zombies recently put out a tweet which teases that a new title is "under construction" and will release on both consoles and PC.

The most recent instalment in the popular franchise released back in 2016 and was titled Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2. This one was a multiplayer third-person shooter. However, the most recent classic Plants vs. Zombies game to released back in 2013.

It's unclear whether the in-development video game will be Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 3 or a sequel to the more typical kind of Plants vs. Zombies game. Reports seem to be confused about whether it'll be the former or the latter, but fans seem to be most in favour of it being another shooter.
