Back in July, Bandai Namco officially announced that Code Vein wouldn't be releasing in September 2018 as initially planned – giving the development team at Shift more time to "refine its gameplay in an effort to exceed the expectations fans already have." While we haven't heard anything new about the Souls-like title ever since, the status quo has changed, with Code Vein finally coming back to life.

First of all, PS4 and Xbox One owners will soon have an opportunity to play Vein during the game's network tests. To have a chance to participate in the beta, you have to sign up on the game's website and own a PS Plus or Xbox Live Gold subscription. Chosen participants will be contacted via e-mail.

In the Hiroshi Yoshimura-directed project, you take on the role of a member of a hidden society of Revenants called Vein. During your own Code Vein journey, you will be able to kill demons alone, but there's no denying that playing with a friend in co-op will make the overall experience more enjoyable.

Some of the biggest gaming outlets have already played a big chunk of the game's latest build, so be sure to take a closer look at over 130 minutes of brand-new Code Vein gameplay footage down below:

In the not too distant future, a mysterious disaster has brought collapse to the world as we know it. Towering skyscrapers, once symbols of prosperity, are now lifeless graves of humanity’s past pierced by the Thorns of Judgment. At the center of the destruction lies a hidden society of Revenants called Vein. This final stronghold is where the remaining few fight to survive, blessed with Gifts of power in exchange for their memories and a thirst for blood.

Code Vein will be available for PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One in 2019.
