CYBERPUNK 2077: CD Projekt Red Is Putting Up Their Best Defense As They Face A New Lawsuit

The dreaded lawsuit over the faulty release of Cyberpunk 2077 has finally become a reality, and its developers have taken to the defense. Hit the jump for more information!

While it hasn't even been a month since the colossal stumble that was the release of Cyberpunk 2077, the dust still shows no signs of settling. When the game was released in early December, it came after months of delays. It promised that the previous console generation versions would be perfected to give the best gaming experience. Sadly, this was not the case, even with multiple delays.

Not only did the release feature multiple bugs and glitches, but the game also had textures that would take incredibly long to render, and in many cases, these issues would also cause the game itself to crash. The unfinished product's poor reception forced Playstation to pull the game from their digital store, and Gamestop has been taking returns and marking them as damaged.

Since the reception, there has been a hum of rumors over whether or not the development company, CD Projekt Red, would be facing legal action, and as of this past week, it looks like that is exactly what is happening. According to the lawsuit filed, the case is about the developers hiding any of the bugs or incomplete aspects of the game from investors. CDPR has decided to take up a defense and fight this, stating, "The Company will undertake vigorous action to defend itself against any such claims,"

With the battle just beginning, what does this mean for players? Will the next-gen console release of the game see the light of day even later than expected, if at all? We would love to see your thoughts on the matter in the comments below!
