Blizzard has released a new cinematic and gameplay trailer for the upcoming remaster of Diablo II, aptly named Diablo II: Resurrected. While the new trailer offers some great new cinematics, as well as new gameplay footage, fans will most likely be most excited to see the release date that's revealed at the end of the video!

The faithfully remaster action role-playing game classic is coming to Windows PC, and for the first time Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Playstation 5, Playstation 4, and even the Nintendo Switch. Diablo II: Resurrected is currently available for pre-order through Diablo2.Blizzard.com.

Players around the world can save Sanctuary from certain doom when the definitive remastering of Diablo II and its Lord of Destruction expansion when Diablo II: Resurrection lands on September 23rd, 2021.

“The Lord of Terror has demanded that we remaster Diablo II, and we are excited to do his bidding by bringing Diablo II: Resurrected to PC and console players this September, with cross-progression† so everyone can enjoy it on their preferred system,” said J. Allen Brack, president of Blizzard Entertainment. “We also look forward to welcoming new and returning Diablo players to our upcoming multiplayer open beta. Their feedback will help us put the finishing touches on a game we hope players will continue to enjoy for many years to come.”

An open beta for Dialo II: Resurrected will take place in August. The beta will feature five of the game's seven customizable character classes - the Amazon, Barbarian, Paladin, Sorceress, and Druid. The Necromancer and Assassin will be available when the game launches in September.

Diablo II: Resurrected will support up to 4K resolution and includes fully remastered 7.1 Dolby Surround audio. It will also include 27 minutes of cinematics, recreated to faithfully reproduce the critically acclaimed originals in stunning high-fidelity.

Old school adventurers will also be delighted to know that Blizzard has increased the size of player's stash for Diablo II: Resurrected, as well as made it so that gold will be automatically picked up. Nostaligic gamers can even swap seamlessly between the modern graphics and the original 800x600 resolution from the original game.
