Astral Chain, PlatinumGames' brand-new intellectual property, has had a pretty great run since it was released in August of last year. The team of developers worked really hard to deliver a quality product, and fans received the game very positively.
Earlier this month, in fact,
Astral Chain Director Takahisa Taura revealed that the game was selling a lot better than they expected, although he didn't really reveal exactly how well; regarldess, it was still great news for PlatinumGames.
Of course, it isn't just the studio that benefits from the game exceeding expectations, as this can also lead to PlatinumGames eventually deciding to develop a sequel to
Astral Chain — and fans are the ones who made it possible.
Just today, Taura shared a tweet on his personal Twitter account, announcing that
Astral Chain has already managed to join the 1 million-seller club; thanking fans for their support in achieving this huge milestone; with a grand total of 1.03 million units sold since August of 2019, to be more precise.
Astral Chain is a Nintendo Switch exclusive game, and this is one of the reasons why it was review bombed by players who don't own Nintendo's handheld hybrid system. In spite of that, the game has already managed to sell 1 million copies, and fans who actually got to play the game can reassure that it is, indeed, a top quality product.
Astral Chain is a new action game from PlatinumGames, the creators of the Bayonetta™ series. As part of a police special forces unit in a multi-cultural futuristic city, players work together with a humanoid special weapon, Legion, in a synergetic action system of battle and exploration.
Astral Chain is currently available exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
