Astral Chain — PlatinumGames' upcoming hack and slash/action adventure title — is just around the corner, and players will finlly be able to get their hands on this game when it releases exclusively for the Nintendo Switch this Friday the 30th of August

So far, we've learned that PlatinumGames has borrowed a few ideas from some of their other intellectual properties like the Bayonetta series and NieR: Automata — at least when it comes to the hack and slash gameplay mechanic.

Details of the story in Astral Chain, however, have been a little bit more scarce — but the latest trailer ahead of the game's release has introduced us to a mysterious ni woman that seems to be the main villain; someone who is apparently one of the chimeras from the Astral Plane.

Take a look:

Astral Chain is a new action game from PlatinumGames, the creators of the Bayonetta™ series. As part of a police special forces unit in a multi-cultural futuristic city, players work together with a humanoid special weapon, Legion, in a synergetic action system of battle and exploration.

Astral Chain will be available exclusively for the Nintendo Switch on the 30th of August.
