During today's Nintendo Direct Mini presentation, Square Enix took the opportunity to show off even more gameplay for Bravely Default II. The sequel to the original Bravely Default for the Nintendo 3DS was announced in December of last year, and is expected to release this year.

In this new gameplay trailer for Bravely Default II, Square Enix introduces players to some of the game's new protagonists, as well as some of the new gameplay mechanics and the game's beautiful anime-inspired graphics/character design.

What's slightly disappointing is that Square Enix didn't give us an official release date for the game, stating that Bravely Default II will release at some point this year. Considering that the game was just announced in December of last year, this is actually to be expected.

The great news, however, is that a playable demo has just become available for players to download via the Nintendo Switch eShop; giving players the chance to try some of the combat techniques Square Enix shows off in the new trailer for the game.

Take a look:

An original RPG experience is coming to Nintendo Switch in 2020 from the team that brought you the Bravely series and Octopath Traveler, and featuring music from Revo, acclaimed composer of the original Bravely Default soundtrack. A new world, a new story and all-new Heroes of Light await!

Bravely Default II wil release exclusively for the Nintendo Switch in 2020.
