Nintendo and The Pokémon Company surprised us all when they revealed, during the Pokémon Direct presentation in January, that
Pokémon Mystery Dungeon was getting a makeover in the form of
Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX.
As revealed by the developers,
Rescue Team DX is bringing both
Red Rescue Team and
Blue Rescue Team together, but with enhanced graphics more in tune with this generation of consoles; considering that the original
Pokémon Mystery Dungeon released for the Nintendo DS, although it has stood the test of time quite nicely.
Most players who have already played either of the original
Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team titles are likely familiar with the game's story and its main gameplay mechanics; for those who aren't, Nintendo has just released a brand-new gameplay trailer that gives fans even more reasons to get excited for the release of
Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX next month.
Check it out:
In 2006, the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team and Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Blue Rescue Team games were released for the Game Boy Advance and Nintendo DS systems in Japan. In 2020, these titles will gain a new life on Nintendo Switch.
Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX will release for the Nintendo Switch on the 6th of March.
