The recently announced Game & Watch: Super Mario Bros. edition is one of the least expected announcements made by Nintendo in recent years; it is also one that has the most people excited over, especially those who like to collect memorabilia.
Besides the added D-pad and the inclusion of both the original Super Mario Bros. and Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels, customers will get a standard-looking Game & Watch device, but there is actually a little bit more to it; after all, it is a retro handheld being re-released in 2020.
The Game & Watch: Super Mario Bros. is no longer powered by button-cell batteries, as users will be able to recharge the console using with a USB-C charger. The handheld is also including a modern LCD screen instead of the traditional black and white LCD screen.
Nintendo has already revealed that this retro handheld will be releasing in November, and that it is a limited production product. We still have no idea what the Game & Watch: Super Mario Bros. will cost, since pre-orders have not yet opened, so customers will need to be quick when this happens; scalpers will be there on day one.
Today Nintendo has shared a video that gives us a closer look at the upcoming Game & Watch: Super Mario Bros., showing off everything this upcoming device has to offer.
