A new game from Simogo, the acclaimed Swedish game development studio that previously worked on mobile
Year Walk and
Device 6, is titled
Sayonara Wild Hearts and was announced at The Game Awards on Thursday evening. Unfortunately, the action-packed reveal trailer doesn't reveal much about the title, as it spotlights
Sayonara's cel-shaded world of purples and blues (and motorcycles).
Sayonara Wild Hearts will be published by Annapurna Interactive on Nintendo Switch and “
other platforms,” presumably iOS and Android. The game will support 1080p / 60 frames per second docked and 720p / 60 frames per second handheld on Switch with virtually no loading times, Simogo says.
Considering that
Sayonara will be their first console title, let's hope it won't feature any major technical issues at launch, because this "
euphoric music video dream about being awesome, riding motorcycles, skateboarding, dance battling, shooting lasers, wielding swords, and breaking hearts at 200 mph" is arguably one of the most unique and fresh things we've seen in a long while.
The teaser features characters riding motorcycles, dancing, and wielding an assortment of weapons, but it's very hard to explain what is exactly going on, so do yourself a favor and watch it down below:
Sayonara Wild Hearts is a euphoric music video dream about being awesome, riding motorcycles, skateboarding, dance battling, shooting lasers, wielding swords, and breaking hearts at 200 mph. As the heart of a young woman breaks, the balance of the universe is disturbed. A diamond butterfly appears in her dreams and leads her through a highway in the sky, where she finds her other self: the masked biker called The Fool. Traveling through futuristic cities, dark forests, and electric deserts, The Fool sets out to find the harmony of the universe, hidden away in the hearts of her star crossed allies: Little Death, Dancing Devils, Howling Moons, Stereo Lovers, and Hermit 64.
Sayonara Wild Hearts is coming to Nintendo Switch sometime in 2019.
